Yes you've probably seen them, these lists are everywhere. Most of the time they take the form of 10 stupid/random/funny/interesting things about some person, place or thing. Like 10 things you didn't know about Cheese or 10 Primates that have also dated Hollywood celebrities.
The lists are essentially opinions anyway. 10 top movies according to whom? Well? The author most probably!
These are really nothing more than click/revenue generators. Lists are mostly linked to more lists and are designed to keep you circling around their site indefinitely trying to figure out just what you were doing there in first place. Like a web of stupid, they will just not let you go.
So next time you see a list of things that remotely pique your interest, try not to click on it. You don't want to be a conformist anyway? No! Of course not.
